How the Custom Jewellery Process Works
First and foremost, I’m happy to meet where is convenient for you whether it be a weekday, weeknight or on the weekend. We will begin with a complimentary consultation to discuss your thoughts, ideas and purpose for this project. It would be helpful to bring picture inspirations, jewellery or stones in your possession you’d like to reuse, and a timeframe in which you’d like to complete your piece. We will be collaborating one-on-one to ensure that you have the adequate knowledge and feel confidence in every step of the process.
Following the consult sketches or mock-ups of the preliminary design will be provided, in most cases with a few different options to choose from. If the job requires outsourcing stones, we will meet to look at a selection of diamonds and/or gemstones to suit your project and budget. After this meeting a quote will be prepared, upon which the desired stone(s) are chosen and the design you would like to move forward with. A deposit at this point can be discussed and agreed upon at the meeting.
A 3D CAD model is created, in addition with computer rendered perspectives of your design. If you choose to see the 3-dimensional mould, we can meet so you may see it live. Knowing that your happiness with the final piece is the utmost concern, any final modifications can be made at this point of the process without hesitation.
An approval is given to proceed with the final design selected and the production begins! Your piece is casted in the desired precious metal discussed and stones are expertly set (if any in the design). Depending on the intricacy of the design it generally takes 2-3 weeks for the project to be competed from this point unless previously discussed. Kirk.by Design will do their best to accommodate any special requests. The outstanding balance will be settled at the time of pickup. Your authentic Kirk.by Designs piece is ready for you and/or a love one to enjoy for years to come.
